Broken hearts

A text from Whitney tonight: "Forester's hair is starting to fall out. He seems shocked and is crying very hard, saying he doesn't want to be bald. He doesn't want to look silly. My heart is breaking."

Please pray for the Lord to heal broken hearts, as well as Forester's little body. Please pray that everyone sleeps well tonight, as last night was rough. I'm at a loss for words because my heart is breaking for my beloved Bradburns too.

May the Lord's love and mercy and peace and very real presence comfort them all tonight.
April

Praying! Praying! Praying! Just tell Forester that he is the most handsome boy no matter what! Maybe Pete and Micah could shave their heads to be like Forester and then he wouldn't feel silly! I love you Bradburn family!

You don't know me, but I know a little about what you are going through. My son, McKee, is a leukemia survivor, diagnosed when he was 10. He is now 14 and going strong. I would like to send you and Forester some pictures of McKee during therapy--bald and beautiful--if you think it would help. You can e-mail me at dbillingslea@habersham.k12.ga or tell me how to attach them to this website. Just remember--the arms of God are a great place to be and when you can't pray anymore--that is when the family of God will step in and pray for you. That is just what the family of God is for and I have already added my prayers to the many that I know are being said. I'm so glad to read that you are a praying family--because I truly believe that is all that gets families through ordeals like this. God loves you very much and this is just one of the ways he is reaching out to you and those watching what is happening in your lives. He wants to display His power to all. The Bible tells us in 2 Chronicles 20:15 and 17--"Don't be afraid!....for the battle is not yours but God's...." "You will not need to fight! Take your places; stand quietly and see the incredible rescue operation God will perform for you!... Go out there tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!" And I am with you too in my thoughts and prayers. YOU CAN DO THIS!!! God is there beside you to help!! In His Name, for His Glory--Dawn Billingslea

Hi Bradburns! I went to Wesley from 1988-92 and heard about your current journey from Laurie Cathey Knowles facebook page. I just wanted to comment and let you know that I have been a pediatric oncology nurse for about 10 years now. If you ever have any questions I would be happy to lend you an ear. I also have been and will continue to be praying for your sweet boy and family with a heart that understands about this journey you are on right now.

As for the hair, it is so hard for some kids (and their families) b/c it is such an outward sign that marks the battle within and makes them look "different". Some kids just want to go ahead and shave it off and others can't bear the thought. I do know that shaving definetly cuts the itchiness out and the waking up to a pillow and bed full of hair. Forester can guide you on what to do. For some it really makes a difference if others around them also shave their head and then others don't really care about that. One thing that people can do to bring a smile to Forester is to send him a neat baseball or other hat.

Hope that helps some! I mainly just want you to know that I am here and praying for your brave warrior son and your entire family. Hope you are having a nausea free day today!
